Marcus Graham Project ICR8 Fact Sheet

  • In its second year, the Marcus Graham Project’s (MGP) iCR8 boot camp gives aspirants in the field of advertising and marketing the exposure and experience necessary to solidify careers within the industry; as well as promotes and highlights diversity and inclusion as essential parts of this exciting industry.
  • MGP is a Dallas-based nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization and national network of diverse professionals that have purposed themselves in developing the next generation of diverse thought leadership within the advertising, media and marketing industry.
  • The MGP boot camp, sponsored by AT&T, is a 10-week program in which a team of African American men ages 18-34 create a full-service pop-up agency, implement market research studies, and develop real-world marketing and advertising campaigns.
  • The pop-up agency, called MetaThinq, will operate as a real-world agency and service clients, including AT&T, Globe Aware and several small businesses in the Dallas-area.
  • MetaThinq will also participate in a cross-country tour to better understand technology usage, the importance of connectivity and existing barriers to using technology in diverse communities across the U.S.
  • The cross-country tour which starts in Dallas, Texas consists of three different teams driving through a set of routes bound for: Los Angeles, Calif.; Chicago, Ill. and Washington, D.C. The teams depart on July 12 and arrive at their final destinations on July 19.

  • The results of the MGP research study will be shared by MGP and AT&T for industry professionals and communities to have as a resource to better understand technology usage in their part of the country.
